Almost Worth the Pain

Ain't it almost worth the sorrow?
Ain't it almost worth the shame?
If the sun don't rise tomorrow
Ain't it almost worth the pain?

She comes tearin' out that old screen door

As he sits there on the couch

He don't think she's been this mad before

And he don't know what it's about

She jumps in the front of his new Ford

Slams that bitch in drive

She ain't dyin', she's been dead before

And she's leaving here alive

Ain't it almost worth the sorrow?
Ain't it almost worth the shame?
If the sun don't rise tomorrow
Ain't it almost worth the pain?

He could chase her if he had her keys;

Would it matter if he did?

She just left him, pretty as you please

With the dog and cat and kid

He calls his mama, 'cause she won't judge

And every other woman lies

She says, “Honey, thank the lord above that you made it out alive."

Ain't it almost worth the sorrow?
Ain't it almost worth the shame?
If the sun don't rise tomorrow
Ain't it almost worth the pain?

He believes she'll turn that truck around

Before she hits the county line

It isn't that she doesn't love him now

She just needs to feel alive

Ain't it almost worth the sorrow?
Ain't it almost worth the shame?
If the sun don't rise tomorrow
Ain't it almost worth the pain?
